Where has time gone? Fall 2006

Well, where do I even start. Time has been flying by and my blog spot has not been updated forever and I am going to attempt to update you all on our exciting happenings!!! Where to beging is the question.

We have had a wonderful fall season this year. The weather was soooo pleasant and we spent alot of time outdoors letting Keaton do what he does best-- RUN and PLAY!!! We visited HillRidge Farms where we enjoyed riding a 80 foot slide, Keaton rode his first pony, rode a choo choo train around the farm and at the end of the day we took a hayride out to a pumpkin patch where Keaton has a ball running all over looking for just the right pumpkin. Ryan of course just went with the flow and took it all in!! What a great day it was.

We took a trip to Washington to see the Kley's and had a nice vistit. One of the highlights for the boys was a trip to the National Zoo. Keaton is so into animals that despite the rain that was falling we toughed it out and had a successful day.

Halloween was a trip as we start to get Keaton in the spirit with craving his pumpkin. Keaton helped daddy come up with a face and the carving began. The pumkin turned out to be pretty impressive and all were happy. Keaton talked about Halloween for days on end and when the big day finally got here it couldnt get dark outside fast enough. He couldnt wait to get into his Kamodoo Dragon/Dinosaur costume. He had a ball treat or treating with the other neighborhood kids. He really got the whole treat or treat concept this year. He wanted to go to every house in the neighborhood and was not so happy when we informed him the night had to come to an end and we had to go back to our house. Of course once at home he wanted to eat alllllll the candy. Ryan was a Lion for Halloween. HE was a cute little cuddley, sleepy lion as he slept in his stroller pretty much the whole time. He could've cared less about Halloween.

Well, enough updating for one blog , I'll have to cont. next time about Thanksgiving, Andy's college graduation, sick babies and Christmas. Boy, do I have alot to share. Hope you dont get to bored.

Ryan has discovered his voice!!

Well, our cutie pie has discovered that he has the ability to be heard and boy when you get him going can he squeal and coo. I think we have our very own bird in the house once again. Don't get me wrong Ryan's chatter is adorable and the smiles that go along with it are priceless and heart warming however he does have one pitch that makes your hair stand up. Ryan is such a happy baby and I keep waiting for him to say "HA, HA mommy nows here's what I'm really like." He is so agreeable, and happy. As long as the sweetie has been fed,a dry diaper and is given some attention he is all smiles or then again sometimes very serious looking as he is checking things out. Overall, however an angle. He is sitting on my lap happily watching as I try and attempt to type one handed this here blog. So when you see typos or something that doesnt seem right, please forgive me but typing with one hand and trying to keep a train of thought with and infant on your lap is somewhat difficult. Anyway....

Keaton continues to be great with Ryan and is growing up way to fast. He is really, really big into animals and trains right now. He lives and breathes them 24/7. He is also starting to use adjectives to describe things and he keeps suprising me with such words as deeelickus (delicious), by the way I am spell according to how he is pronouncing the words, beetful (beautiful),dangeeerous(dangerous),grumpy, cranky and two of his favorite saying lately are "That's right.... Mom"after I say about anything. You have to love that after all the "no mommy", I've heard over the last year and a half. If you ask me though the best is " I guess so!" If you ask him a question he will look at you with a funny face and say" I guess so!", it's said with a bit of suspecion and the facial expression is priceless. Pretty funny stuff.

Keaton will miss you Steve, may you rest wrangling crocs!!

Well, as many of you know our little Keaton LOVES Steve Erwin. He has his videos memorized and has developed a great love for animals because of him so we were deeply saddened Monday morning when we heard the news of his passing. Ben took the photo above that morning as that is not a staged photo but a nightly occurrence of him sleeping with a life like shark he calls "Sharko". Keaton is to little to understand that he has passed but it has been weird for Ben and I as Keaton wants to watch his Steve shows daily and talks about him throughout the day. Steve had become part of our family I guess and we are sad that such a positive role model for our son is no longer with us.

Yummy, tookies!!

Well, after such a successful day at the park I decided to continue making fun memories by having a mommy and son cooking session. Keaton helped mommy get all the stuff together for the cookies. He then managed to crack an egg, get butter all over him and all our cooking utensils. Needless to say, we had not even started our cooking endeavor and he and the kitchen were pretty messy. That's what makes it fun though, Right! Well, in the end Keaton made some darn good tookies if I do say so myself. We ate every last one so they couldn't have been that bad. By the way I do know how to spell "cookies", I just like Keaton's version better!!

Choo,Choo...All Aboard!!

As many of you already know our Keaton is in love with trains. Thank goodness he has found other interest such as sharks, whales, crocs and good old Steve Erwin. However trains still seem to be a favorite. We have been trying for weeks to get take Keaton on a train ride but we continually kept looking like lying parents as either we were negligent and didn't get tickets in time or the train was closed for repairs everytime we attempted to ride. Well, this past Sunday we finally had success. Keaton got his train ride and much, much more! We headed out Sunday afternoon with a cooler in hand for Pullen Park. Just some quick history on Pullen Park. It's a great place that has lots of space to let kids run and play while also having kiddy rides such as the train, carousel, kiddy boats, paddle boats and a lake to feed the ducks. We set up a picnic under a shelter next to the train track so Keaton could watch the train go by as we ate. Of course he didn't want to eat as the train was calling him. He was soooo excited! After lunch we headed to the beloved train and boarded with success!! Yeah, we came thru! Keaton was in his height of glory, beaming from ear to ear. We rode the train twice, fed the ducks, rode the carousel and overall had a wonderful day. Keaton even baked chocolate chip cookies later that day and boy were they yummy. Look for more on that next post. I got some great pictures and even a funny video.

Iwill be doing a few posts that will catch you up on our little men. We have family all over the place and I am hoping this helps you all feel closer to us.

Keaton as many of you know is growing up so fast. He is talking more and more everyday. He is such a cutie and has been amazing Ben and I with his vocabulary and ability to speak in semi-grown up sentence. Mommy and daddy translation sometimes is needed but overall he is doing great. Ryan is growing at the speed of light. He is a very happy little baby. He is already in 6/9month clothes and is wanting to sit up now to see the world. I look forward to seeing his sweet smile every morning and hope you will enjoy hearing about our days.
Yes, I'm blogging. Who would have thought!! Well, after refusing to pay a monthly fee to have a website and nooooo time to create one ourselves I've decided to blog!We have so much going on and I thought this would be a great way to share with everyone. Hope you will check here often for updates and enjoy watching our boys grow up.
